Just another quick update.
After 8 or so months, I have been offered another job! I had no idea what to expect when doing the interview as I tend to get nervous as always; on Friday I found out about my job offer and accepted. Of course, breaking the news to my team wasn't easy but I had to do it and well, they understand. It was a decision I had been considering for a while and I knew what I needed to do.
Given that my job is going through a restructure, nothing was certain and I needed to seek alternatives. The point is, when working you have to be loyal to yourself and look after your interests. It isn't to say you shouldn't care - in fact, you should always be open to other opportunities and ensure you (try to) plan ahead.
Of course, change (especially given autism) is hard and the natural nervousness of starting a new job will kick in. But, I am excited to see what the future holds and I want to gain more confidence when it comes to trying out other things when finding a career path. I have been in the process of looking at all options though, this is so in case I am offered the restructured role I can decide whether to take the new role or not.
For anyone who is struggling to find another job, I do understand. The current job market is very difficult to navigate and at times, you will need to remind yourself not to give up. When making the decision to find another job, it is best to be logical and weigh up all your options (as sometimes, rash decisions can make the situation worse). Also, don't spend every waking moment looking. Have breaks in between as-well.
So, I guess this is another job (soon to be, maybe) gone. Well, I will see what lies ahead for me.
So, sayonara for now x
