🌸 busaba review... 🌸

After a long week of work, I went out with a friend (to celebrate our birthdays as they fall in February). We went to Busaba, a Thai restaurant which has many branches in the UK. The restaurant focuses on classic meals from Thailand such as the well-known noodle dish Pad Thai (there is a version with chicken or prawns) and also adds modern touches. There are other dishes besides noodle-based ones, you have stir-fries, soups, rice dishes and a wide selection of drinks (some of which are Thai inspired, others normal classics like tea, coffee, non-alcoholic/alcoholic selections). The vibe is very relaxing; the incense and candles add to the (I guess) earthy aesthetic if I make sense.
I often frequent this restaurant with my dad and tend to opt for either chilli beef jasmine rice, bang kapi katsu (a Japanese based dish; a chicken katsu curry) or red jungle chicken curry. This time, I decided to go for something different - dolly pad mee.
Dolly pad mee is a noodle dish consisting of dolly noodles, prawns, bok choi, shiitake mushroom, beansprouts, cherry tomatoes, egg, a hint of chilli and a basil garnish to finish off. The dish is cooked in a wok and has a bit of a smoky flavour - I couldn't taste much chilli though (which is a shame as I am fond of spicy food). It reminded me of something flavour-wise; nasi goreng (a rice dish I used to consume from a buffet restaurant which sadly closed down years ago). The dish was quite fragrant with the addition of lime juice (for flavour) but I should've added salt (only because it was fresh). I also had a 250ml glass of shiraz wine, red is apparently supposed to be a healthier option but of course, it is important to drink in moderation.

For people who like exotic cuisine, Busaba is a place I would recommend, also forgot to mention that I didn't have dessert as the dish I chose was filling (although then again, noodles are a form of carbohydrates).
So, a short but sweet review for now. Until next time, sayonara - remember, don't cry, have wine! X
